Center of Light Project
in Thailand
The Center of Light Project is a start up project about 3 hours from Bangkok. The project director, Sophia Rakthai, is making plans to open a small youth center, called The Center of Light. Emily Fitchpatrick met Sophia in Bangkok and has since become dear friends. Sophia has an amazing testimony of how God restored her after being sold as a child into human trafficking.
According to Sophia "There is a number of teenagers, aged 10 to 15, that try to organize money by themselves. Some try to be prostitutes at the border with the police officers and the tourists there. There seems to be a long 'tradition' of prostitution with police officers in this area. Nobody seems to care about them, the parents seem to busy with their own problems like unemployment, alcoholism, divorce. How can we leave this situation behind and do nothing? That is why we want to start our place to be a Center of Light for them so they can come and share their fears and worries with us, and ask for guidance and support. We want to reach out to them, connect with them and be able to counsel them and their families in times of need. We want to give them opportunity and activities when they come, maybe a place where they can enjoy and hang out. We will assist with financial support to continue their education. Our purpose is to bring them to the light of Christ."

Amirah Safehouse in Boston
Amirah is a non-profit organization located in the Boston area dedicated to provide faith-based, whole-person care for rescued victims of human trafficking. The goal is to provide a short-term, emergency shelter and a longer-term care facility dedicated to sharing God’s love and restoration with the women who have fallen victim to modern-day slavery.
Justice and Care
Justice and Care is an international team of human rights professionals supporting victims of trafficking and other forms of injustice and supporting governments in their efforts to prevent these crimes, protect the victims and prosecute those who exploit them.
We work with victims of trafficking, slavery and child abuse within countries and across borders.
We are a team of 49 professionals – including investigators, social workers, counsellors, lawyers and administrators - many of whom have considerable experience working on behalf of those trafficked in South Asia. We now have three centres in India as well as some staff based in the UK and the Netherlands.
House of Hope Nicaragua
In 2001, after speaking to a group of prostitutes, God began to birth a vision to help those women. The Holy Spirit confirmed the need to open a vocational center for the women and to provide them with a means to make a living and establish them in the Lord. Since that initial encounter the Lord has provided us with the land and we have built structures for job training, and housing for young girls and women with children. Please take a moment to see what God is doing at House of Hope, Nicaragua.
Now, after more than eight years of evangelistic outreach to prostitutes in Managua many women have come to know Christ and a valiant group has made a stand to stop working the streets and attempt to support their families by various means, such as peddling candy and trinkets or doing laundry and ironing.
