Our Board of Directors:
Emily Fitchpatrick, President
Emily’s passion for hurting women stems from a background of drug and alcohol abuse. Her goal is to help other women overcome
additions, fears, anxieties and other emotional pains by showing them the love of God and teaching them how to receive freedom
through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Emily’s vision for a women’s home was formed in 2002, but it was not until late 2007 that the
vision grew into set of plans for The Hope House. After a trip to Bangkok, Thailand to minister to women trapped in prostitution and
sex trafficking in January 2008, Emily knew that her life had been completely changed. Her knowledge of this form of modern day
slavery lit a fire in her and she knew that the The Hope House was to be a home for women and children (both international and
domestic) victims of sex trafficking and it was to be located in Western NC. Her vision is for a place of safety and refuge… a place of
healing, peace and restoration. Emily and her husband Josh have two children (Savannah and Jacob) and they are members of The
Calvary Fellowship in Arden NC.

Kim Kern, Treasurer
"A resident of Asheville, NC for 13 years, and a born-again Christian for 12 years, I have a love of God's creation that is displayed here
in these mountains, and for His human creation as well. Because of some of my past life experiences, I have a deep understanding
and compassion for women and children who have experienced exploitation, homelessness, and abuse, and I hope to be able to
help them come to the saving, healing, overcoming, and redeeming love of our Savior, Jesus Christ."
